Summary

To provide leadership and management of customs and logistics of the Spanish operations to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided. Core elements will include Health and Safety and efficient use of resources, communication at all levels, management of import, suspended tax regimes and exports as required, driving the delivery of harvest parts´ quality control, preparation for storage and shipment, offloading & loading of customer materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international logistics, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment.


Main responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organization and specifically to customs and logistics operations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to quality control, wrapping and packing, warehouse and logistic to achieve efficient operations.
  • To ensure the management and compliance of customs authorisations and licences. That customs administration processes are robust, and comprehensive records are maintained.
  • To keep abreast of other areas activities, including project planning, resource allocation, and execution.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of quality controllers and warehouse operators, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback as needed.
  • Drive business growth and profitability through effective resource management and business development initiatives.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of operational performance metrics and information flow to internal stakeholders such as Global Planning and Control.
  • Lead the quality control and logistic elements of remote disassembly projects, including preparation for the team arrival and coordination with local support.

Key attributes

  • The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing complex international logistics, ideally in an aviation environment. The person should also possess excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Strong background and expertise in logistics.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements. Ensure that all goods received or dispatched meet regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Effectively communicate the company's vision, set clear goals, and motivate employees to achieve them.
  • Capability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. This includes identifying growth opportunities, optimizing operational efficiency, and mitigating risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies. Anticipate potential challenges and proactively address them to ensure smooth operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. The ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely is essential.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service to customers and maintaining strong relationships. Understand customer needs and expectations and work collaboratively with other departments to meet them.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing priorities, market conditions, and industry trends. Pivot strategies as needed.
  • Resilient with the ability to work well under pressure and with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally from time to time.

Skills/experience

  • Strong logistics background with experience in Customs Management.
  • Good Communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Strong motivational skills to bring out the best in team members.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver results.
