Operations Manager - Castellón

Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the safety and efficiency the Castellón operation, while strengthening and building relationships with local authorities within the region. You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the successful execution of disassembly projects.


Main responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation and specifically to disassembly operations.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the aircraft disassembly operation to ensure cost effective delivery to plan.
  • Oversee all operational activities, including project planning, resource allocation, and execution.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of technicians and team leaders, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback as needed.
  • Drive business growth and profitability through effective resource management and business development initiatives.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of operational performance metrics and information flow to internal stakeholders such as Global Planning and Control.
  • Maintaining familiarity with the operational status of customer projects and acting as a facilitator for any issues encountered during the term of the project.
  • Lead remote disassembly projects, including preparation for the team arrival and coordination with local support.

Key attributes

  • The ideal candidate will have a track record of operational safety, revenue efficiency and leadership in an MRO environment. The person should also possess excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Strong background and expertise in the aviation industry, with specific knowledge of aircraft disassembly, maintenance, and storage processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and compliance requirements, including environmental and safety regulations. Ensure that all operations meet regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Effectively communicate the company's vision, set clear goals, and motivate employees to achieve them.
  • Capability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. This includes identifying growth opportunities, optimizing operational efficiency, and mitigating risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies. Anticipate potential challenges and proactively address them to ensure smooth operations.
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects and programs, from planning and resource allocation to execution and monitoring. Experience with large-scale disassembly projects and facility management is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. The ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely is essential.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service to customers and maintaining strong relationships. Understand customer needs and expectations and work collaboratively with other departments to meet them.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing priorities, market conditions, and industry trends. Pivot strategies as needed.
  • A strategic and critical thinker, able to identify root causes of issues and remedy appropriately.

Skills/experience

  • Undergraduate/Graduate level Business, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, or other related area.
  • Aircraft Maintenance License or 5 years of CAMO experience.
  • Relevant H&S certification/standards.
  • Strong MS Office skillset.
