Summary

The Aircraft Disassembly Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient disassembly of aircraft, ensuring all components are removed and documented according to company and industry standards. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.


Main responsibilities

  • Disassemble aircraft parts and components following standard procedures and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to remove parts.
  • Ensure all removed parts are properly tagged, documented, and stored.
  • Inspect aircraft parts and components for wear, damage, or defects.
  • Document the condition of removed parts and prepare detailed reports.
  • Update and maintain accurate records of disassembly activities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies, FAA regulations, and industry standards.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on disassembly tools and equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials and hazardous substances.
  • Work closely with other technicians, supervisors, and departments to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide support and assistance to team members as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in disassembly techniques.

Skills/experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in aviation maintenance preferred.
  • Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, repair, or disassembly is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with aviation tools, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
