Summary

The Lead Disassembly Technician oversees and participates in the disassembly, removal, and tagging of aircraft components in accordance with company, FAA, and OEM standards. This position ensures that all disassembly activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with procedures, while leading and mentoring a team of technicians to meet production goals and quality requirements.


Main responsibilities

  • Lead a team of disassembly technicians to safely disassembly/removal of parts/components from various aircrafts and that these are clearly labelled/documented
  • Ensure all work is completed following company policies, maintenance manuals, and safety standards. Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
  • Perform inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure proper tagging, documentation, and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records of removed components, serial numbers, and condition reports.
  • Communicate with Quality, Warehouse, and Logistics teams regarding parts disposition and material handling.
  • Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self & others to ensure all duties are performed within established safety guidelines
  • Train and mentor new technicians in proper disassembly procedures and tool usage.
  • Ensure work areas are organized, clean, and compliant with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Report any discrepancies, damage, or unsafe conditions immediately to management.
  • Work in conjunction with other functional teams, ensuring that the resources required to support the projects are in place
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste

Key attributes

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, disassembly, or related field (A&P license preferred but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of aircraft systems and structures

Skills/experience

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations.

  • Full Time - On Site
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. | Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods | Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
