Network Design and Implementation: Design, plan, and implement network architectures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
Security Management: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect the organization's IT infrastructure
Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
Incident Response: Respond to and resolve network and security incidents promptly, minimizing downtime and impact on operations.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, security measures, and incident reports
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.

Skills/experience
Network Design and Administration: Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and routing and switching concepts is crucial.
Network Security: Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security. Ability to configure and monitor security tools and interpret logs to identify threats.
Operating Systems: Advanced knowledge of Windows, Linux, and sometimes macOS environments, including server and desktop administration.
Cloud Security: Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their security features, including identity management, encryption, and compliance controls.
Security Standards and Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS) and best practices for risk management and incident response.
Virtualisation and Containerisation: Knowledge of technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, and Kubernetes, including their security implications.
Scripting and Automation: Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash), especially for monitoring, patch management, and incident response.
Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment: Skills in conducting vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and remediation of identified risks.
Communication: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Customer Service: A patient and supportive approach to assisting users with their IT needs.
