ecube backs St Athan FC throughout the 2023/24 season

Located on the opposite side of the runway to ecube HQ is St Athan Football Club. St Athan FC is a local community club steeped in history. Founded in 1920, the club’s first documented Barry Cup win was back in 1937 and league title in 1948. More recently, they’ve reached the 5th tier of Welsh football in 2005 and brought home the Barry Cup in 2018. With the 2023/24 season getting underway, sights are set for more success.

With more than 70 players registered for the season, all aged between 16-60, the club will compete with three teams in the Vale of Glamorgan League and South Wales FA Cup.

With a history of supporting the club and several ecube employees signed up to play this season, ecube had no hesitations when it came to continuing their support this season.

Club Secretary Hywel Dark said: “The ecube sponsorship has purchased over 70 training tops for each player to wear on match days and out and about in the local area, they have proved very popular.”

“ecube has previously been a huge help to the club by donating a shipping container that we have turned into the clubhouse, bringing together the squad and community even more. The club is a family club with multiple generations already playing in the teams. We are keen to re-establish junior teams to bring through the next generation and provide football for the youngsters in the area.

“We are proud of the impact we have on the local community, aiming to provide football for all ages. Most importantly we support exercise and socialising through sport, which has been proven to help with mental health and well-being.”

Everyone at ecube wish St Athan FC [The Saints] all the best for the season.
